The title says it all. I originally purchased four tubs of this bluray disc from Ebuyer. Unlike the Aone bluray discs, I have not had a single coaster with the TDK brand (the 10 pack of Aone discs produced 8 coasters!). I am using this BD-R with a LG BH10LS30 BD-RE drive and dvdfab (and also img burn) software to transfer my vast collection of Equinox, Horizon and all other documentaries from dvd onto bluray. I am very happy with the quality and reliability of this BD-R. I also think the negative reviews are unfair as the problems encountered by other people are most likely due to optical drive and software compatibility issues. One reviewer suggested that one of the reasons this BD-R is unreliable is because it is manufactured in India!. This is nonsense, since TDK labs have established dedicated manufacturing plants with quality control, irrespective of what part of the world the item is manufactured. Another reviewer recommended to pay a 'little extra' for the Panasonic BD-R. Upon price comparison, I found the Panasonic brand retailing a 10 pack at £21.50 and a 25 pack retailing at £43.32 (here on Amazon). I do not doubt the quality of Panasonic, but please bear in mind that a 25 pack of this TDK BD-R retails at £21 on Amazon. If you are looking for good quality and a sensible price, then this TDK is hard to beat. On a final note, avoid the Aone branded BD-R discs as they are notoriously unreliable (see the numerous bad reviews received here on Amazon).

Read the reviews including the bad ones but took the plunge as they are very cheap now. This is an early review as I've only used 3 of these but so far so good as they all burnt fine at 4x using my Optiarc BD-5740L drive. I also ran some basic testing using Nero Disc Speed and the surface scan test passed 100% ok, and the transfer rate test (TRT) also worked perfectly. Final test was seeing if my PS3 could read the disc and again no issues. Not comprehensive testing as my writer can't run the more advanced tests but a good indicator that the burn was fine.

Working out at around 61p per disc for 25GB or 2.4p/GB these are good value for branded discs. After a quick look on Amazon you can get 100 Verbatim DVD+R (4.7GB) for around £18 or 3.8p/GB so these BD-Rs are now actually cheaper per GB than DVDs.

This is the first time I have had a Blu-ray recorder, and I was not sure which discs to buy for it. So not wanting to spend a fortune on discs.( just in case) After looking at the reviews, and seeing someone who had the same model Panasonic system as myself. I decided to give these a go. I have only used one so far, but it worked a dream. I will try some more, and if I get the same results, then I will be over the moon.
One thing to report, the packet said 135 mins in HD, which is just over 2 hrs of recording. But on my machine I get about 6 hrs of HD content, recording HD programs from TV on a 25GB disc. The program I recorded onto this first disc was over 4 hrs long, and came out perfectly. I was even able to give it menus, with a little movie on the side. Looking at the disc, I have nowhere near used the full capacity of this disc, so where 135 mins comes from makes no sense.

I have been using these with a "LiteOn EHBU 312 12x USB 3.0 External Blu-Ray Writer" which supposedly adjusts the write speed to the media. In the case of these disks, it tries to write to them at 10x inevitably resulting in coasters! I have not had any problems yet burning these at 4x.

Burnt about 10 discs without any failures.

Plays great on my panasonic blue ray player and my laptop.

Great for data/picture backup too, with circa 21gb capacity
