The "Creative D80 Pure Wireless Bluetooth Speaker System" works a treat.
As its advertising says it is quite compact - but powerful. It is about the size of a small marrow (!) but packs quite a meaty punch in the sound department.
It works, so the advertising says, up to 10m - though as with all Bluetooth devices it needs a clear path (it stops working if you take your device into another room and have walls in-between you and the speaker!)
My version is a slick black - almost the entire surface of the front is taken up with the "speaker". The entire front includes just a small panel with three other "inputs".
There is an "Aux In" jack for an mp3 player, phone or other device if you want to use this speaker conventionally (i.e. if your music playing device does not have Bluetooth capabilities).
There is a "+" & "-" button to turn up/down the volume.
Lastly is the Bluetooth button. You will need to press and hold this for 3 seconds before your device will find this unit.
There is a mains lead input into the back and an on/off switch.
And that is that!
It comes with minimal instructions (very few are really needed) - but in 18 different languages - just in case you wanted to know what the Polish for "Quick Start Guide" is (it's Szybki Start"!)
All in all, a nicely built Bluetooth speaker, works perfectly and the sound is clear and powerful.

AS another reviewer said, small hum. However what do you expect. The power supply is housed next to the speakers.
If you "drive" the speakers at a decent volume you never notice the hum.
It really all depends on the target environment.
If you intend to use this speaker as a low cost device to have music playing in the background, then buy them !!!!
These arent for audiophiles. After all you have no real stereo separation and you are streaming over bluetooth.
Thats not what they are indended for. And really what do you expect fot 30 quid.

The speaker seems to be very well made, paired in seconds to any of our gadgets and produces an excellent bass rich sound. I've paired the speaker with my ipod nano 7th gen, 2011 macbook air, Samsung galaxy note GT N7000 and the kid's 4th gen ipod touches. It seems to remember the pairing with all of these gadgets so re-connection is just a case of selecting the speaker from the list of available bluetooth devices. Some reviews have mentioned mains hum. Its true that if you put your ear close to the speaker you can hear a slight hum, but in the kitchen or living room I don't notice any hum at all even when there's no music playing. At just over 30 quid it's highly recommended.

Not having anything more than a small DAB radio in our house and having recently passed on my iPod to my mum, my music listening pleasure has been reduced by having all my music on only my laptop & duplicated on my iPad. My intention was to get some speakers to plug into my iPad but having seen the Creative D80, I thought I would go wireless.
On unpacking you are presented with a aesthetically pleasing shape, modern looking design & instructions in a selection of languages! A simple "kettle" style mains lead plugs in to the rear, switch it on, also at the rear, follow the simple & easy to follow instructions to pair and off you go. No drama, no hassle, just pair your Bluetooth music source and play. If you are lucky enough to have several Bluetooth sources of media, just pair them and switch between the 2 most recent by pushing just once on the front facing button, simples !
A 3.5mm Aux in socket is also available (strangely on the front should your music source not have Bluetooth but you will need to provide the lead. An alternative, certainly for PC's and laptops is to buy either a generic Bluetooth USB adaptor, or the Creative one, which is up to you.
Sound quality is more than suitable for most I would reckon. I tested it listening to Oasis, Foos, Springstein & just to add some balance .. Lilly Allen .. so vocals, drums & the finer detail of guitar playing was under scrutiny .. and while there was some distortion at the upper end of the volume range, it was no more than should be expected with an item of this price, some might even say less than expected.
Its also worth noting that while watching films or TV on a tablet, streaming the sound to the D80 makes the experience much more enjoyable.
On a lighter note, for those fashionistas who don't like black, the D80 is available in lurid pink, lime green & a blue, something for everyone I would say.
The D80 is only mains powered but there is a D100 that will take batteries should this aspect of playability be important to you & also a D200 if your require a greater, premium listening experience but for in the house day to day listening the D80 is fantastic value for money & a great way of extending the usability of a mobile phone, tablet or pc based music source.

I absolutely love this product ! In fact I have bought hundreds of gadgets over the years from Amazon but this is my favourite.
Firstly it is satisfyingly heavy when you get it out of the box, it looks stylish although plain and doesn't look out of place in a modern flat or an older traditional house. There are only a couple of buttons on the top so not complicated.
I bluetoothed up to it via my iPhone and work Samsung Galaxy S2 and it immediately connected to both with no problems, then simply play your music and away you go ! The sound quality is very strong with a very deep bass but also room filling sound with no distortion.
I know they do posher versions of this but not sure what they could do any better so I strongly recommend this product and is so cool :-)

This speaker looks really stylish.
A nice feature is you can link this to two different devices (e.g. if you also had an iPhone) and easily choose between the two. There is also a "line in" socket so you can use it with non bluetooth devices.
I've had a few Creative brand products over the years and they never disappoint. Very happy with this speaker also. As far as output power goes, this is fine for me. I often use my iPad for things like listening to live football commentary streams, gaming, BBC iPlayer etc, and this is more than adequate.
Works straight out the box with the iPad2. I had this up and running in less than five minutes - very easy. Plug the speaker into the mains, press one button on the front, go into the Settings app on the iPad, Bluetooth is under the general tab, the iPad will then scan for bluetooth devices and you just select the Creative D80 when it shows up. And that's it!

These speakers are pretty easy to set up, connect and to use. On my Motorola Defy, it was as simple as holding the speaker's bluetooth button for three seconds and syncing through the phone's settings. Anything that was played through the media player played through the speakers. Like another reviewer I purchased the Belkin Mini Bluetooth Adapter * Class 2; 10M allowing connection with my PC.
Sound quality is, if not perfect, fine for my needs. My primary use is listening to podcasts and internet radio in the kitchen and the speakers have met my expectations. Sound quality is let down at higher volumes but for me this problem never arises and it's that clear anyway, I don't need full volume.
The portability of the speakers are a major point in their favour, they'd be ideal for boating and caravaning and would also make great speakers for a student studying away from home. Being mains supplied they're are not completely portable; (proper)camping is out.
Overall, I'm very pleased with these compact and useful little speakers.

Bought this speaker in particular because I didn't want to fork out for an expensive alternative. I had heard it playing in blockbusters one day and decided to look at some reviews and was happy. So when I got it and plugged it in, I was even more chuffed! Now because of the price of this speaker it isn't going to be Bose quality, that's a given. But this speaker has some good range on it. Really good to take on holiday and things like that.
