[I originally posted this review for the silver coloured version of these brackets.]
We used these to secure a pair of Monitor Audio BX2s. They had been previously on top of a cupboard. The improvement to sound quality was impressive.
These are fairly heavy and bulky speakers. Nowhere near as heavy as the 25 kg limit of the brackets, true, but I was still wary of perching them on top of these. In fact, as long as you push the speakers right back on the platform, they remain stable enough to be secured solely by the clamps. You could secure heavier or more awkwardly placed speakers with screws: the brackets have holes for these and some self-tapper wood screws have been provided.
A few points to keep in mind:
- These speakers are 25-26 cm deep. The bracket's arm is much shorter than this. So, if you fix the speaker in line with the arm (that is, the bracket is fixed to the wall behind the speaker), the speakers will stick forward quite a bit and will need to be screwed in place to stop them from toppling forward.
- We avoided this by fixing the bracket to a side wall. When you do this, however, you cannot reach the clamp screw on the wall side with an ordinary screwdriver, so you will need to fix that half of the clamp before putting the speaker on the bracket. (You could in theory fix the speakers to the base before fixing the base to the arm, but that would need more than one pair of hands and a lot of fine choreography.)
- There are sponge pads provided for the clamps, but none for the base. So, you will need to devise your own solution. Good old blue tack on a few spots seems to work well.
- The nylon wall plugs that come with the kit are very poor -- but that's far from unusual: I have yet to come across any kits with decent wall plugs. Get your own heavy duty plugs before you start drilling.
In short, be prepared to spend some time fixing these in place. They have not been designed for the impatient.
All these are niggles rather than problems, though. I doubt you can get better quality than this unless you spend twice as much.
These are an excellent pair of speaker brackets. They go together and were up on the wall in minutes. However they still look and feel very well made and sturdy. They certainly hold my rather large speakers in place securely and even though they are only gripping at the sides there is no movement at all. If you have full sized spekers to hang then these are the brackets to go for and it is worth spending that little bit more for the quality and look of the B-Techs. They are certainly more stylish than some of the cheaper brackets out there and offer plenty of vertical and lateral movement. They are not the smallest bracket in the world, they can't be if they are going to do the job they are designed to do and you will see them but the manufacturers have clearly donr their best to make them as neat as possible.

These B-Tech BT77 speaker wall mounts were really easy to install using my basic DIY tools and skills. You need to ensure that you use appropriate fixings. The BT77s were very solid on the wall and easy to adjust. I like the way the fixing screws are all hidden by the cover plate.
I was confident in mounting my heavy (12kg) speakers which measure 10 x 10 x 22 inches. The brackets and speakers were mounted and adjusted within an hour. To avoid cosmetic damage to visible parts of the speaker I didn't put screws though the side brackets into the speaker. While you can tighten the side brackets sufficiently to prevent the speaker sliding off the mount, I did put a screw through the hole in the base plate into the speaker base to provide extra security and stability: this enables me to tilt the speakers fully forward without any worry that they will slide off and this arrangement appears adequate for this size of speaker.
I'd certainly buy these BT77s again if I was looking for a quality, functional speaker wall mount. For the price they are excellent.

I've brought these to mount a pair of mission speakers that i was given a few years ago, installation is easy and can be done very quickly if you have a little DIY know how
the speakers feel very secure when mounted and the stands don't rattle or vibrate to an audible level while the speakers are in use,
very pleased with the product!
