Purchased this device to replace an old digi-box that couldn't cope with the recent digital changeover. Simplicity itself to install with clear and easy to understand instruction leaflet.
All freeview channels downloaded automatically and all are working well with superb picture quality on every channel. A huge bonus is being able to record TV programmes onto any USB device. I have connected a 500Gb external hard drive and found it to be simplicity itself to make recordings that reproduce perfectly. This has to be the bargain of the year, a real quality product at a remarkably low price. What more could one ask - Excellent!

I got the product with an updated remote, and after installing it I realised LCNs (Logical Channel Numbers) were missing. These are the things that put channels on the numbers you expect them - BBC News on 80, BBC Three on 7, 4seven on 47 etc. ITV4 was channel 8, for example.

I found a channel sorting menu, which I thought would allow me to get LCNs as stated in the manual, but the option was missing. I thought they had removed it when they changed the remote. However, when I read to the end of the booklet, I found you can get LCNs like this:
Go to menu>TV>configuration>system setup>LCN>on. Then auto scan for channels again. You should now find channels where you expect them - this should be the default setting I think.

Anyway, apart from that, the device is great. It doesn't freeze like another recorder I had, and lets you record whatever you want and watch it on your computer for a very low price. I'd recommend it, and also reading instruction manuals!

EDIT: I then had another problem. My signal is fine when watching a program, but when I try to record it to USB it breaks up badly and REC PAUSE is displayed. I worked out how to fix it. Simply get a USB extension cable so you can move the USB further away from the device. It seems the USB interferes with the TV signal, so simply move it away and you're fine.

What a little gem! Easy to setup, excellent remote zapper, and with such extensive functionality - will even do timed recording into a USB memory! This little device will do most of the basic function of a PVR costing many times its price.

Really good on-screen displays, but what is so rare is the little user manual - written by somebody who not only understands the technical content but can put it over in good, clear quality English.

The best example of a low-cost digital adaptor I've yet found.

Purchased this device so I could have an instant record on my small HD set that I watch whilst having my breakfast. Does what it says, one click and the program goes onto the USB flash drive to replay on the HD set, or take it away and play on my laptop. As for setup, I switched it on and it did every thing for me itself. A good buy, one further point, if you switch it off at the mains the HD set still gets to work as normal via the aerial link, so you only turn it on when you think that you may want to record an item that you are watching.

What an utterly brilliant - and cheap - little gismo!! I'm blown away actually. From knowing next to nothing about the range of this kind of digital technology, but realising i needed something to allow me to even see even the basic channels (not being a huge tv watcher) to finding this and reading the reviews. Admittedly instructions given by the manual could be a little clearer and i needed a bit of help to get it set up, but all in all, really straightforward and i haven't looked back since!
Excellent.

Nice and tidy piece of kit..well impressed as it was easy to install and configured itself to our dated 4:3 lcd tv.
The EPG and user menu responds quickly and the remote is intuitive to use..quite like the way it separates the radio from the tv channel menu.
The IR receiver is smaller than I expected (about 20mm diameter) and I have stuck it to the back of the tv out the way where it responds well to the reflected control signals off the wall.
I struggled a bit with the record set up as I didn't realise that the SD slot is read only and eventually got it to work via a usb hub connected with the provided cable..don't quite know why its configured that way ?? but after contacting the seller, who responded very quickly..thankyou, it is now sorted.

Gives a very good choice of TV and radio channels. A bit awkward installing, but I think this is down to the location of the scarf socket on the back of the TV.

Arrived from Amazon this morning. Set up took about 10mins. Instructions are not the best I've ever seen, but if in doubt ask any 5 year old!! All the channels I needed were downloaded very quickly and reception and picture quality excellent. All this for £15 and it records too! I used the enclosed USB connector and a memory stick. Amazing bit of kit, recommend it.
I noted that someone else had a problem using the remote. The instructions are not very clear about this. The box comes with a small infra red reciever which needs to plugged into the box and, attached by its sticky to the top or side of the TV. It must be in a position to be'seen' by the remote control otherwise it does not connect.
