I run my own small consultancy business.
I sometime review documents or give power point presentations to clients.
Pleviously I have use larger and more cumbersome projectors powered from the mains with cables linking to my laptop.
When I first opened the box I was surprised at the size of the projector, it came with the required leads (USB)a carry case, and a small tri-pod. (No instructions, but they are not necessary)
When I tried it out it took a little while to get a picture but once I found out how, it was not a problem.
The picture is clear enough.
When I first used it at a clients, one of the directors was more interested in the projector than what was being projected.
Another plus is that it does not get as hot as other projectors.
What I like about it is I can carry in my laptop case, ready to use at any time.
For the price I don't think I could have made a better choice.
My client was interested as they attend exhibitions and this could make there life a bit easier and give them back some valuable space.
If there is a downside it the fact that for a larger picture you need to place the projector a reasonable distance, therefore the room needs to be large enough. However I still don't see this as a problem.

this is really, really good - I kept looking at it and thinking about it and finally thought - well I can always send it back - but it is brilliant. It's really light weight and small but I can connect it up to my ipad (using video out leads I got from Amazon ages ago) and watch my films etc with friends without the need for a tv. The darker you can get the room and the whiter the wall the better, but I have managed to watch in daylight by projecting it onto a piece of paper held in front of it. It's much nicer than watching a screen as you don't have that "staring at a screen thing" - if you know what I mean - it's more like going to the cinema and much more restful on the eyes. If you get migraines watching a screen this is a much more natural way of watching a film - my son likes to project it onto the ceiling and lie in bed watching movies. It's also a lot easier than lugging a tv around with you. I just wish I'd bought it ages ago. Didn't need to look at the instructions - took me about 5 seconds to work out how to use it, really intuitive and user friendly. Like the accessories too - basically - all GOOD

Despite not mentioning in the sales blurb that a VGA cable is now included (in fact suggesting you would need to buy one), when my Pix PPX1430 was delivered on the 12th Jan '12, the box had a sticker on the outside announcing that "VGA cable included!" and when I opened the box - there it was!
So, don't do what I did and order the cable when at the same time as ordering the projector - wait and see if you get the same deal that I did. I suspect they have taken on board comments and reviews criticising the lack of probably the most important accessory most people will need, and decided to bundle one in to boost sales. At a little over £200 it now represents incredibly good value-for-money.
Other than that, I can confirm what others have said - it is an almost unbelievably good bit of technology - it really is 'that' small and versatile - given its size it is pretty bright and can throw a good quality image around 3 metres - it works well on battery alone - however I could not persuade it to work with an iMac (using a mini DV to VGA adaptor that otherwise works fine with a second monitor), but as I didn't buy it to work with a Mac, but rather with a Windows netbook, I am delighted.

Wasnt expecting too much for its price and size but its just brilliant. I place it around 9 feet from the wall where I project and it does a great job. There are few comments here stating it aint great for daylight. Ofcorz it aint. Its just 30 lumens and its a pico projector. I love it and I watch all my tvshows thro this. Image gets skewed when not set but then tats the common problem with all projectors.
What I do is to play the video in vlc player and use the sharpen setting in VLC player to get my image more clear. This adds to the overall sharpness and im one happy guy..
I put a lot of effort in to finding a projector that a) I could use in business and b) have the flexibility and ease of use to be used at home by all of the family. And after a lot of web and shop research I opted for the 1430 for a number of reasons.
Size - I was fed up with having to take a number of cases to meetings and now only need my lap top and the PicoPix in one bag. The fact that you can charge it up and use it independently of a PSU was a big plus.
Functionality - Being able to read a number of formats and link up with my PC (you do need to get an extra cable) with such ease meant there was no silly user error moments or awkward pauses as when needed technology can let you down!
Home Life - My family (young kids included) can use it with ease as it is very intuitive while again supporting a large number of consumer devices.
I am pleased with my decision and all the hard work in selecting this device was all worth it. I would recommend the 1430.

This projector is a little gem. I've been using to project images on to canvas for painting and it's perfect for the job. Haven't used it much for video yet, but it seems to handle it pretty well. I saw this item in the tesco direct catalogue for £250, so it was great value from amazon at £148! Very pleased over all.

Hi guys, well having done my home work for a while, i decided to take the plunge and buy the picipix 1430 and i wasn't disappointed. its just what i wanted and performs better than i expected. it works great on any light coloured wall in dimly lit room, even better on the ceiling when I'm in bed. its so small it will fit in your jacket pocket and is very portable. I did buy a second generation mini x 2 speaker (£11:99) just to boost the sound which sits nicely on top of the unit. I can't rate this little projector enough. For a family sized room you can't go wrong. enjoy.
I've been an amazon shopper for years and years and have bought loads of different items over those years. Rarely - if ever - have I found it necessary to write a review about a product
However, PicoPix PPX 1430 deserves 1 minute of my time simply to shout out what a great little product this is
I simply can't fault it!
I use it for work and pleasure. Its size means I can carry it round everywhere (even without power supply as battery life is fine for work presentations). And now - finally - we have a projector at home for movies etc (the darker the room the better - that goes without saying)

Bought this projector for use with my laptop and business presentations - nice overall size - needs to have a darkened room as only 20 lumens , so can be difficult to see in certain situations. Fits into laptop bag easily over all nice price and good product
This is a very nice product, small and simple!
I particularly liked the easy set up - just plug in the unit to your laptop and it automatically installs the software so that you can use it straigth away. The picture quality is good as well and that is all that I need!
Definitely recommendable :-)
