What can I say? I was a bit put off by some of the negative reviews with regard to connectivity but I had no such problems. Plugged the adaptor in to my new Sony Bravia tv and it picked up my wifi immediately (in spite of my wireless router being upstairs). Within minutes, I was watching Youtube in glorious HD and no pauses, stops or starts. Absolutely delighted with it (and also Currys was going to charge me £75 for the same bit of kit).

I recently purchased a Sony Bravia TV and Bluray player. The Internet feature was part of the attraction. Although the TV is described as "wireless ready", it's a bit cheeky of Sony not to make it totally clear that you still need to buy this dongle. I did look into powered ethernet, but the reviews were a bit mixed. So having spent £850 on the TV and Bluray, I thought I might as well finish the job and buy the dongle.
It works very well. Setup on the TV took about an hour, but having done that, the Bluray setup took 10 minutes. And it works just as you'd expect. My only disappointment doesn't relate to the dongle, but you might want to be aware that the Bravia TV doesn't support BBC iPlayer at the moment. But the Bluray does. Odd that. It works very well. We only have 2mb download speeds, but SD from the iPlayer works fine. HD does pause occasionally, but it's worth it for the quality.
Overall, a good buy.

After reading many negative reviews about this product I decided to go ahead and buy it but with much trepidation. My fears were unfounded as I installed this USB Network adapter on a Sony DVD Player without any problems at all - even thought the router is in another room.
I got a £40 off voucher for a Sony S370 blu ray player from Tesco, so I got that at a bargain price, then I read that with a LAN adaptor I could access online extras. In for a penny, in for a pound I thought. Went on Sony's website, £68.08 all in, next day delivery, terrific. No, at the checkout it was £99.98 and delivery in 2-4 weeks hrmph. Back to old faithful Amazon, ordered Monday afternoon, arrived Wednesday morning (Thanks K+K) Plugged it in and it's fantastic!! Easy to install (stick it into the USB port)and off you go, I have had so much fun exploring the extras it has been worth every penny. If you have a Blu Ray player that you can hook up to the net do so! If you have a wireless network then invest in this item, you won't be sorry.

I have loved all my many Sony products including my Sony Bravia internet TV so quite dismayed to read so many negative reviews about the Sony network adapter. Stupidly I believed them so I've been unable to access internet TV for 2 years!
Imagine then my utter delight when I decided to take a chance - given Amazon's return policy - it works absolutely superbly without ever buffering or losing signal! And all this with the modem upsairs in another room!
Perhaps its because I use BT and have good speed - totally pleased and really regret believing the negative reviews. Its all relative!

Great item that works well - only problem is that it says TV (Sony 713) needs a software update to play bbc i player and then says to ensure another menu item is activated, but exact item does not exist on TV menu, and no automatic update seems to be happening - all other internet 'channels' work well - pity I just wanted it for bbc !!
Easy to set up and works well in my very old solid house.
Only gripe woth Sony, why not build this in to your TVs - 713 is the latest model and should have had it inside already.

I purchased this because I wanted to use iPlayer. Set up prompts on screen were a little confusing at times. It did not make it clear that it had accepted my router key and I was looking at this screen for a while before I realised I could 'continue'. I think those less technically minded would prefer some paper instructions, not just the on-screen ones. You are not even told whether to plug the device into the television or the router - this may not be obvious to everyone! It works well but I do think it should have been supplied with the television.
Does what it says on the box! Was disappointed to read prior to buying this adapter that BBC iplayer wasn't available on the Sony Bravia set I had purchased, but was delighted to find it has now been added as a Beta version which seems to work well.
Set-up is very simple, absolutely no problems with it so far and the supplier turn round from order to delivery was also very impressive.
